Walker's Square Park

There once was a magnificent fountain in the middle of Walker's Square Park, according to Jill Sebastian, who researched the neighborhood. Even further back in time, according to the federal land survey notes and maps, a small stream meandered north through the heart of this square, emptying into the Menomonee Valley wetland near the Burnham Canal. Today when it rains in the city, stormwater flows into sewers instead of streams.
