Friends of Lincoln Park was founded as a community response to the EPA led cleanup of toxic sediments in the waterways of Lincoln Park in Milwaukee. The Friends group brings neighbors & neighborhoods to-gether to celebrate Lincoln Park. Its outreach project sustains & builds on the gains made from the large-scale sediment remediation project as follows: 1) to expand its annual river cleanup effort; 2) to expand its weed-outs for shoreline restoration efforts; 3) to educate about consistent dog-poop pickup & its positive affects on the watershed; 4) to educate about water issues such as lawn run-off, reducing pollutants & using rain barrels.
