Milwaukee Environmental Sciences (MES) Charter School worked on a prairie-themed Native Landscape Ecosystem Hub, which was installed during the spring 2015 “learning expedition” with students, staff, and families. Grant funds supported pavement removal and installation of native plants on the school’s play lot at 6600 W. Melvina Street. The Hub is part of a MES Eco-Campus initiative that already included 12 garden beds and an internal storm drain diversion and catchment system.
