Port Washington Historical Society

Through the “Follow the Drop: A Watershed Odyssey” program, the Port Exploreum supported 40 teachers, taught 1,000 middle & high school students, & engaged 60 families in understanding Great Lakes ecology & the steps they can take to improve water quality in S. E. Wisconsin. The program includes two new museum exhibits - an interactive Virtual Watershed touch screen & an Infiltration Station demonstrating water flow through different soil types - as well as 18 pre/post-site visit lessons that allow students to assume the role of scientists & use data to understand water flow, pollution & solutions for local watershed challenges.
