For five years and counting, the Prairie Stream Project has blossomed into an intricate, dedicated weave of connections. Comprised of local and statewide agencies, the Prairie Stream Consortium was initiated in 2009 by a group of third graders at The Prairie School in Racine. While learning about the local watershed, and inspired by a beach clean-up service project, students were transformed from concerned citizens to freshwater activists.
