Mole Creek Tributaries
Fish Passage Restoration

Milwaukee Audubon Society, Inc.
The Milwaukee Audubon Society’s project remediated multiple, non-structural fish passage impediments in the West and Northwest Branches of Mole Creek, in Saukville. A conservation corps team was employed to remove log jams, debris deposits, and any invasive plants impeding the stream channel. These impediments blocked access upstream for an array of aquatic species. Removal of the impediments provided access to 24 acres of wetland habitat on the West Branch of the Milwaukee River and 54 on the Northwest Branch.
