Cub Scout Pack 393, sponsored by Parkway Elementary School in Glendale, planted 10 trees in and around school grounds for their Stormwater Tree Planting Service Project. Existing trees near the school were diseased and cut down during winter. Planting new trees re-established storm water absorption lost over the past decade of tree losses. The newly planted trees reduce polluted stormwater runoff, provide aesthetic benefits to the neighborhood, improve air quality, and provide habitat value.
